United States, 1830: The 'New World' is expanding rapidly. The industrial boom is in full swing and the race to build the greatest railway empire in North America is in full swing. It's time to roll up your sleeves and take on your rivals as you lead your company into the 20th century!

In Railway Empire, you can create and modify a vast railway network, purchase over 40 authentically reproduced train models, and buy or build stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to stay one step ahead of your competition. You'll also need to hire and manage your workforce to ensure an efficient railway service, as well as develop over 300 technologies, from mechanical improvements to trains, infrastructure and advanced attractions, as you progress through five eras of technological innovation.

But you can't just build and research if you want to succeed. You will have to compete against three fierce rival tycoons and you may need to resort to 'less orthodox' strategies to get the better of the competition, including acts of sabotage and industrial espionage.
