          THE STORY

          Eorzea. A land embraced by the gods and forged by Heroes.

          In an attempt to gain control of the realm and its abundant crystals, the Garlean Empire sends troops to conquer the southern lands. In the grip of madness, the invaders' leader secretly desires to tear the moon from the heavens and cast it upon the earth. The realm's inhabitants soon discover this mad plan and gather in prayer in a last-ditch effort to seek the aid of the gods, only to find their efforts unsuccessful. From the moon rises Bahamut, an ancient terror thirsty for blood and fueled by countless generations of imprisonment.
          Sensing danger, a powerful wizard channels his last remaining strength to send the heroes of Eorzea into a time warp. There they will wait, unreachable by the flames of destruction, until they can once again fight. You are one of these heroes, and the time to awaken has come. Come and witness the rebirth of a realm.
